TRULY, my favorite OLYMPIC moment...

The year is 1992, the place...the BARCELONA SUMMER OLYMPICS. This video, even though only 2 minutes in length, speaks a lifetime on behalf of the relationship of this father, and his son. This clip is synonymous when you hear the words OLYMPIC SPIRIT. It’s a reminder of how a simple action, by one person...in this case two people, can move not only mountains, but people. What you are going to see, is an example of the HUMAN SPIRIT, and the power of LOVE.… A tribute to how acts of good can transcend race, religion, and winning, even on the grandest of stages. People from all different walks of life, different countries and beliefs all stood up for DERICK REDMOND, then for his FATHER that day, giving him an ovation, as well as their hearts and compassion.

Derek Redmond finished last that fateful day in the 4oom semifinals, but crossed the line a winner…with perseverance, dignity, and in the loving arms of his father. After watching this video, I ask you to reevaluate the power of the human touch, a reached out hand...and in this case, a loving embrace.

I cant tell you who won that heat, the final time, or who ended up with the gold. It goes to show you, its not all about "being first" its not all about being the best...that’s not the only way to get people to REMEMBER YOU. its about leaving behind a legacy, something that carries on, even when youre gone.

Remind yourself today, "What matters most is HOW you finish, not WHERE you finish."

David.
